Tips

  • Try to be a good distance from the camera so that you can stay within frame
  • Try to use a dark background behind you.
  • Try to reduce exposure setting until no glare. This can often be done by clicking on the "Config" button and adjusting the camera settings.
  • Reduce the "brightness" setting on the camera. This can often be done by clicking on the "Config" button and adjusting the camera settings.
  • Use a light low and pointed on the front of your face. I think this will make you look better (although it is bright). The issue is getting it so that it isn't too bright on your skin, making your skin look like a light pen.

Don'ts

  • Try not to wear anything shiny -- shirts or button, etc. Depending on your lighting, the shiny part can look like a pen.
  • Don't have any glass or other things behind you. Light might reflect off of glass or forehead, looking like a pen.
  • Try not to wear plaid or shirts with lines or checkerboards. Depending on your camera and later compression, these can cause distracting moiré patterns.
